Connecting Places Through Highways

 

 

Transportation is crucial for the progress of any country. Particularly, roads and railways play a major role in sustaining business besides helping people. Convenient, spacious, and beautiful roads can lead the country towards progress. 
The MEIL has a robust backbone in constructing highways in a very short period. The speedy laying of state and national highways, tunnels, and bridges, is the company’s area of core expertise. It implements the latest technology and skillfully executes tough projects even in adverse weather conditions, such as the Zojila Pass located in the very high altitudes of Jammu & Kashmir.

 The company is making rapid strides in the construction of highways, which amplify the commercial, agricultural, tourism, and service sectors and their economic growth. 

Zojila Tunnel Pass and others

The company  is currently constructing the Zojila Tunnel Pass in extreme weather conditions in the Jammu and Kashmir region. This tunnel pass is crucial for the Indian Armed Forces and local transportation in the region. It is being built at an elevation of 11,578 feet above the mean sea level. The 13-km tunnel connects the Kargil region with the Kashmir Valley.
In Maharashtra we completed the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway part of Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. With exceptional experience in road construction, the company has completed an 85 km stretch of the road.
 
The other projects ongoing in Maharashtra are the Mantha-Partur, Partur-Majalgaon, Kaij-Kusulamb, Karad-Tasgaon, and Satara-Mhaswad roads which were recently recognised as National Highways in Maharashtra. These include two-lane and four-lane highways as part of NH 266 and NH 548(c).

The highways built by the company in various states of India are equipped with bridges, culverts, and state-of-the-art technology. MEIL is constructing a 58-km stretch between Mehswad-Themburni, 50 km from Pandharpur, a famous pilgrim centre. Three large bridges are being constructed along this route. Works on Vijayawada Bypass Road, Renigunta-Naidupet Road widening works as well as road development works in Kadapa and Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh are progressing at a brisk pace.


It is constructing the Renigunta National Highway from Naidupet in Andhra Pradesh. The length of the road being handled by the company on this National Highway-71 with six lanes is 57 km. It connects the Kolkata-Chennai National Highway to the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway. The company is also constructing a 40-km six-lane bypass road from Chinavutapalli to Gollapudi in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

Recently we acquired total 16 packages in the last fiscal year. On the Bangalore to Vijayawada highway road, we are doing 7 packages.  3 packages on Mancherial to Warangal highway and 2 packages on Warangal to Vijayawada highway road contract. In Nagpur to Vijayawada highway we are doing between Turpu - Kanupur, Anantapur – Tadpatri, Bihar – Siwan and Warangal – Khammam.
 
Rishikesh - Karnaprayag Project (RVNL) 

In Uttarakhand, the company is constructing a 20 km route in the new Broad Gauge Railway Construction Project undertaken between Rishikesh - Karnaprayag for the (Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd) RVNL. This linkage is the most crucial in this project. The route passes through many shrines and tourist spots in Uttarakhand. This railway line will run through Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri, Garhwal, and Chamoli.
 
Electrical Mobility

Ambitious government policies drive the deployment of electric vehicles in public transport across the country. Apart from achieving net-zero emissions, the policies aimed at reducing oil dependency in transportation, keep in view environmental benefits and reduce air pollution and climate change effects.
 
The Evey Trans Private Limited, established in 2018, is a subsidiary of the MEIL. Within a short span of time, it has emerged India's largest electric bus operator. It is the only 100 per cent electric bus operator in India, offering end to end solutions. The company is successfully operating the e-buses of Olectra Greentech Ltd (OGL) in several cities like Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Silvassa, Goa, Hyderabad, Dehradun and Nagpur. 
 
Olectra Greentech Limited (OLECTRA), a publicly-listed entity among the MEIL group companies, is a pioneer in bringing electric buses to the Indian market to make public transport pollution-free, more sustainable and low cost (in terms of operation). Recognising the opportunities in the transport ecosystem, the company is bringing in the best of the latest technologies for 100 per cent electric, eco-friendly, zero-emission vehicles.
The company has already supplied over 1200 electric buses as on March 2023 to various STUs and covered more than five crore kilometres on Indian roads.
